Coordination of Taller Intensiu de Projectes II – Remote Spatial Observatory Studio
Under the umbrella of the CAMPS project, Dr. Amorós Elorduy coordinated the Taller Intensiu de Projectes II: Remote Spatial Observatory Studio: Architecture, Territory, Displacement and Environmental Transformation, within the Department of Architectural Projects at ETSAB. This intensive design studio exploring the complexities, the challenges and benefits of remote observation, spatial analysis and architectural representation and whether it can support the understanding of complex territories.
Students did a fantastic job diving deep into the challenges of eahc of their case studies, learning about the importance of assumptions, underlying bias, triangulation, finding multiple sources and the relevance of the architect’s way of looking and representing. A fine balance between interpreting and situating knowledge. They engaged with mapping, interpretation and critical visualisation as architectural research tools.
